Numbers 1:3-16 has the names of the leaders of the tribes of the children of Israel. These names have important meanings in Hebrew. We will show them in a series of articles since there are a large number of names. In this particular article, we will show the name meanings from Numbers 1:5-7. Amazingly, these name meanings* form a secret message from God in a few cohesive paragraphs. (*Which God revealed to me based on the Strong's Concordance). At the very end of this article, you will see the cohesive message.

Name Meaning: "From the imperative of ra'ah and ben;..." Ra'ah is behold or see. Ben is son. 
Simple Meaning: (Behold, a son.)

Name Meaning: "From 'el and tsuwr;..." El is God. Tsuwr is rock or fortress. 
Simple Meaning: (God is his Rock.)



Name: Shedeur
Strong's Number: 7707
Name Meaning: "From the same as sadeh and 'uwr;..." Sadeh is land, ground, or that which spreads out. Ur (or uwr) is light or fire. 
Simple Meaning: (He dwells within the land of light.)


Name: Shimon (Simeon)

Name Meaning: "From shama'; hearing;..." Shama means: "to hear intelligently". 
Simple Meaning: (One who hears intelligently.)


Name: Shelumiel 
Strong's Number: 8017
Name Meaning: "From shalowm and 'el;..." Shalowm means peace, blessings, prosperity, rest, and many other things. El refers to God. 
Simple Meaning: (His peace and blessings are from God.)


Name: Tsuwriyshadday (Zurishaddai)

Name Meaning: "From tsuwr and Shadday;..." Tsuwr means rock or strength. Shadday means "almighty" and "my sovereign lord". 
Simple Meaning: (His Rock is the Almighty God.)


Name: Yehudah (Judah)
Strong's Number: 3063
Name Meaning: It comes from yadah. Yadah means to give thanks and praise. 
Simple Meaning: (One who praises God.)


Name:  Nachshon (Nahshon)
Strong's Number: 5177
Name Meaning: "From nachash;..." Nachash in this sense means: "learn by experience". 
Simple Meaning: (One who learns by experience.)


Name: Amminadab 
Strong's Number: 5992
Name Meaning: "From am and nadab;..." Am means people or nation. Nadab means to "offer freely" or to "offer self willingly". 
Simple Meaning: (One who freely offers himself.)

The Name Meanings Fit Into a Cohesive Paragraph

When you put the name meanings (from Numbers 1:5-7) together, they form a fairly cohesive paragraph. Again, these names we looked at are Reuben, Elizur,
Shedeur, Simeon, Shelumiel, Zurishaddai, Judah, Nahshon, Amminadab. See below:
