The Deception that Has Risen Upon the Church: The Occult Disguised

It started long ago. Before the turn of the 19^th century to the 20^th century, before the rise of Darwinian Evolution and Humanism in the 19^th century, there was a deception that had crept into the Church. The deception came from many different countries of Europe and reached America, blending together.

Though the deception was subtle and seemingly “harmless”, it was a seed that was going to be watered until it grew into a great weed to choke out the truth.

Leprechauns, fairies, dwarfs, elves, witches, wizards, magic…these were presented as being merely fantasy and make-believe. Children were told fairy tales by their grandmothers and parents. Though many people in early America were raised with the truth that there is One God who created all things who alone should be worshiped, kids were brought up on Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and fairy tales, and Halloween.

We will not get into all the details of why these things are deceptions, but we will look at how the water-filled kettle of deception went from a simmer to a full boil in less than 100 years and how this affects America today.

Magic was celebrated in fairy tales as make-believe and “harmless” in the 1800s and fairy tales gained more popularity with the publication of Children's and Household Tales published in 1812. These stories promoted magic as acceptable and “fun”. Sleeping Beauty, for instance, had a sleeping princess, named Rosamond, who had been “enchanted” into a deep sleep by a magic spindle. When the Prince kissed her, the spell was broken and she awoke.

In the story of Roland, an “evil” witch wanted to kill her step-daughter. To escape her evil step-mother, the girl (maiden) used a magic wand to shape shift herself and other people and to cast spells. Her boyfriend, Roland, used a magical fiddle to cause the “evil” witch to dance herself to death on some thorns. This story for children should not be read by any child. It included a witch, a beheading, a magic wand, spell-casting, shape-shifting, and magical killing. It presented a magic wand as an instrument that could be used for either evil or good. In other words, it promoted witchcraft to children.

These same elements of witchcraft or sorcery, in old children’s stories, can be found in real witchcraft. And, these same elements can be found in The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and many other popular movies and modern books.

The Truth People Do Not Want to Think about

Once children had been desensitized to magic and had been told that magic could be used for good or evil, which is what modern witches believe today, children would be open to greater deception. In the 1800s the witchcraft practice of necromancy, or performing a séance, to speak to spirits that claimed to be the spirits of the dead was very popular among intellectuals and people in general.

Hebrews 9:27 says: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Spirits of dead humans do not roam the earth, but evil spirits do. These demon spirits pretend to be humans and can do a good job of imitating someone’s deceased grandfather, aunt, or friend. These spirits have studied humans for thousands of years and can fool most people by their clever imitations of the deceased.

God forbids witchcraft and sorcery in any form!

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (emphasis added)

9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

In the pagan religions of Moloch and Baal people would burn their infants alive to Moloch or Baal. They did this horrible act to appease and gain favor with their gods, which were really demons. Is this not like what we call abortion? People today kill babies for the sake of convenience.

Divination, astrology (observer of times), enchanting (repeating a magical phrase), witchcraft, wizardry, and all other forms of sorcery (including speaking to evil spirits called familiars) are abominations to God.

Revelation 21:8 says: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

People involved in sorcery “…shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” This is serious. Repent from sorcery if you are involved in it.

The Truth about Wizardry

This deception has entered the Church decades ago. As one prominent example, C.S. Lewis promoted spell-casting as good in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. As one example of Narnia’s sorcery, Lucy found a magic spell book which she used to cast a spell which made some invisible “monopod” creatures visible. J.R.R. Tolkien, a good friend and mentor of C.S. Lewis, wrote The Lord of the Rings trilogy. 

In this trilogy, Gandalf, the “good” wizard, confronts Saruman, the “bad” wizard. They both use magic in their battle. Gandalf uses a magic word to open a magic door. A magic ring causes people to become invisible. Sorcery is presented in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as being something that can be used for “good” or for “evil”. In Star Wars, “the Force” can be used for either “good” or “evil”. Jedi knights possess the mystical power to move or levitate objects at a distance. Witches can do the same thing today. David J. Meyer, a former witch (or warlock), said:

‘When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. It is not a good side of the force that overcomes the bad side of the force, but rather it’s the blood of Jesus Christ that destroys both supposed sides of the satanic "Force."’ (Meyer) (Emphasis added)

Sorcery is still sorcery. It is an abomination to God. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12).

Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling’s highly-popular book and movie series, promotes wizards, witches, and sorcery as being something attractive and fun. Harry Potter uses sorcery to battle against the evil sorcerer, Lord Voldemort. 

A former high priest of Satanism, Stephen Dollins, exposes the real witchcraft (or sorcery) of Harry Potter in this video titled: Under the Spell of Harry Potter.

“… Harry Potter started rising until it became the number one device that was being in the witchcraft world and in the occult world to ... lure our children into witchcraft and the occult.

"And I started really … studying what the whole premise behind Harry Potter was and it will shock you when you find out some of the things that go on in Harry Potter....

“... There's a lot of ritualistic things that are in there … that I used to do when I was a high satanist priest--type of rituals. There are also blood rituals that are in the Harry Potter books.

“And, if you ask a child … that if they saw those things they'll tell you ‘no’ because what they do is they read that [the dark part] and they say that is just part of the story -- not really realizing that those things are in there. … they'll tell you all the fun and exciting things and they'll leave the dark things out. And if you go back and you ask them... 'Well, what about this? They'll say, 'Oh, I didn't see that: didn't see that at all.' Because they were blinded to that.”

In the video, Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged, Caryl Matrisciana said (27:40 min.):

"The Harry Potter series, are connected to websites that get you into arenas where there are experts at teaching you the spells, the legitimate spells [of witchcraft].”

In an interview with Amazon.co.uk, J.K. Rowling said this about the spells in Harry Potter books:

“I decided on the school subjects very early on. Most of the spells are invented, but some of them have a basis in what people used to believe worked. We owe a lot of our scientific knowledge to the alchemists!" (“Magic…”)

Stephen Dollins refers to this interview and said (44:50 min, part 2): “Now, what she is saying is that there are spells that are invented, but there are also some spells in there that work, that are the real thing.”

Bob Johnson, wrote a book promoting "magick" [different than magic tricks] for the business world. Johnson wrote this in the introduction:

“The tools of magick are spells, talismans (charms and objects), potions, rituals, and ceremonies. They are all used to achieve a desired result. For example, witchcraft has spells for obtaining money.... Witchcraft spells can get you that raise...” (Johnson.)

The Telegraph website learned from J.K. Rowling that she was interested in witchcraft as a young girl. The Telegraph said: “Dressing up as wizards and witches, concocting fantasy potions and telling stories were just a few of the games Rowling played as a child with Ian Potter and his little sister Vikki.” (Demetriou)

Caryl Matrisciana said:

"Then there's the concept of curses. ... white witches or those who purport to be on the white side of the occult, or hidden knowledge, will say that they don't use curses in a derogatory way. However, Harry [Potter] symbolizes white magic and Harry uses curses, or his magic, for vengeance." (“Harry Potter:…”)

Caryl describes a scene where Harry casts a curse on his aunt because she said an unkind thing about his deceased mom. This curse made his aunt become extra fat. The curse may seem humorous to some people, but curses are not humorous at all. They are real and they are used by wizards and sorcerers today when attacking their enemies.

Merriam-Webster.com defines a “curse” as, “1: a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon one:” This same website defines a “spell” as “a spoken word or form of words held to have magic power” and as “a state of enchantment”. Real witches know that spells and curses work. 

So, why are children being allowed to learn about witchcraft through Harry Potter and other books?

Great Deception

Years of deception have eroded the moral conscience of many Americans and people around the world. The Chronicles of Narnia were embraced by Christians for many years. The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Harry Potter entered a little later as Christians became more and more desensitized to the evil that is in these books and movies.

It got to the point that Christians began promoting Harry Potter as being good and okay for kids to read. World Magazine included an article titled "Best magic yet". The article praised the Harry Potter movie: “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is without question a good movie.” (Basham).

Other deceived Christians have promoted Harry Potter.  Mark Greene, Director of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, wrote:  “I wish I'd been the one to introduce her [his god-daughter] to Harry—fine lad you know, courageous, resourceful…” (Olson).

The late Chuck Colson, also very deceived, had said that Harry Potter was "purely mechanical, as opposed to occultic." (Kjos). This is far from the truth and it is a sad reality that the Church has brought the occult and witchcraft into the Church thinly disguised as entertainment.

Peter Lanz, a former Temple Master in the "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn” wrote this about Harry Potter books:

"The story of Harry Potter is an allegory: It is written and packaged to look like fantasy when, in truth, it is a carefully written true description of the training and work of an initiate in an occult order. [...] The story line aligns with real occult books written by renowned occultist Gavin and Yvonne Frost." (Lanz)

Interestingly, Gavin and Yvonne Frost are in charge of a School of Wicca or witchcraft in the U.K., similar to what Professor Dumbledore has with Hogwarts. At the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter and his friends learn how to cast spells and they learn the real names of actual demons that real witches, alive today, work with.

A former witch, David J. Meyer, who got saved and became a pastor, wrote:

“I am writing this urgent message because I was once a witch. … The first book of the series, entitled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", finds the orphan, Harry Potter, embarking into a new realm when he is taken to "Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." At this occult school, Harry Potter learns how to obtain and use witchcraft equipment. Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction!” (Meyer)

So, why are Christians promoting this occultic book? Spells really work. Witchcraft is real. Demons are real. As Christians gave place to the deception of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc. the spells witches cast on Christians around the world began to take effect. Spells of deception and the unwillingness of Christians to seek God and repent from sin brought about greater deception.

We Christians need to repent from sin. We need to get rid of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Star Wars, and anything else connected to the occult. These things are abominations to God. Ephesians 5:11 says: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Romans 6:16 says: “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

2 Corinthians 6:14-15

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

We need to cast off these works of darkness. Acts 19:19 tells how people, who left witchcraft, burned their occult books, even though they were worth “fifty thousand pieces of silver.” Romans 13:12 says: "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light."

God loves us so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and shed His precious blood to pay for all of these sins. (See John 3:16; and 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; and Romans 5:8-11.)

If you repent (turn away) from your sins (Acts 3:19), and believe and confess aloud that Christ has done this for you (Romans 10:9-10), and have made Him your Lord and Savior (again Romans 10:9-10) you are saved.

Now seek God with all your heart. Seek to know Him and you will (Jeremiah 29:13).

John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Jeremiah 29:13: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
