The Occult in Narnia, Part 5 - The Magic Spell Book in Narnia

The Occult in Narnia, Part 5 - The Magic Spell Book in Narnia

In this article, we will look at C.S. Lewis' provocative description of magic spells which Lucy used from a magic spell-book, in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. We will see what the Bible has to say about this subject. And, we will look at something that Aslan himself said to Lucy which will surprise you.

The Number of Times "Magic" and "Spell" Appear in Narnia Books

The word "magic" appears throughout the Narnia books, as would make obvious sense, since these books are meant to be about a magical land called Narnia, where Aslan, a lion, can magically fly, and animals can talk. But, the context of the word "magic" in the Narnia books is not used in the way some people might say, "That was a magical date" or "That was a magical outing." It is used to refer to supernatural power that can be controlled by way of magic rings or spells. This is nothing different than witchcraft, which also uses magic rings and magic spells to control something they call "the force." (See the References section at the end.)

By using the gutenberg.ca website, I tracked how many times the word "magic" appeared in Narnia books, and how many times the word "spell" appeared (in the context of a magic spell). There was one time the word "spell" was used in a sentence in the context of spelling a word. (In Prince Caspian: "...in the most abhominable,—don't forget to spell it with an H, Doctor..." [sic]) But, almost all appearances of the word "spell" referred to magic spells.

Below is a list of the Narnia books with the number of times the word "spell" (in the context of magic) and the word "magic" (including other forms such as magical) appear in the actual novel text of Narnia books:

- THE LION, THE WITCH and THE WARDROBE ("spell" appears 2 times; "magic" appears 23 times)

- THE SILVER CHAIR ("magic" appears 13 times)

- THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER ("spell" appears 24 times; "magic" appears 58 times)

- THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW ("spell" appears 5 times; "magic" appears 62 times; "Rings" [magic rings] appears 52 times; [note: "roarings" appears 1 time])

- PRINCE CASPIAN ("spell" appears 4 times; "magic" appears 31 times)

- THE HORSE AND HIS BOY ("magic" appears 3 times)

- THE LAST BATTLE ("magic" appears 3 times; "Rings" [magic rings] appears 7 times)

In total, the word "magic" appears 193 times and "spell" (as in a magic spell) appears 35 times in The Chronicles of Narnia books.

The Magic Spell-Book in Narnia

One example of the word spell is found in this short scene from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. C.S. Lewis writes:

'"I do not know, Madam," said Reepicheep. "But there is this. When I was in my cradle a wood woman, a Dryad, spoke this verse over me:

"Where sky and water meet,
Where the waves grow sweet,
Doubt not, Reepicheep,
To find all you seek,
There is the utter East.

"I do not know what it means. But the spell of it has been on me all my life."' [End quote] [1]

In the same story, there is a chapter titled "The Magician's Book." Lucy, the main character, is in a wizard's house, looking at a magic spell-book. C.S. Lewis writes a vibrant description:

"She went up to the desk and laid her hand on the book; her fingers tingled when she touched it as if it were full of electricity. She tried to open it but couldn't at first; this, however, was only because it was fastened by two leaden clasps, and when she had undone these it opened easily enough. And what a book it was!

It was written, not printed; written in a clear, even hand, with thick downstrokes and thin upstrokes, very large, easier than print, and so beautiful that Lucy stared at it for a whole minute and forgot about reading it. The paper was crisp and smooth and a nice smell came from it; and in the margins, and round the big coloured capital letters at the beginning of each spell, there were pictures.

There was no title page or title; the spells began straight away, and at first there was nothing very important in them. They were cures for warts (by washing your hands in moonlight in a silver basin) and toothache and cramp, and a spell for taking a swarm of bees.

[...]

She turned on and found to her surprise a page with no pictures at all; but the first words were A Spell to make hidden things visible. She read it through to make sure of all the hard words and then said it out loud. And she knew at once that it was working because as she spoke the colours came into the capital letters at the top of the page and the pictures began appearing in the margins." [End quote] [1]

Here C.S. Lewis is describing a scene where a little girl (Lucy) is reading from a magic spell-book and causing magical things to start appearing. She even caused Aslan to magically appear, due to the spell she cast to turn invisible things visible. That is concerning, because Aslan is supposed to be a character that represents Christ.

Aslan Said Something Disturbing to Lucy.

The Deception that Has Risen Upon the Church: The Occult Disguised

The Deception that Has Risen Upon the Church: The Occult Disguised

It started long ago. Before the turn of the 19th century to the 20th century, before the rise of Darwinian Evolution and Humanism in the 19th century, there was a deception that had crept into the Church. The deception came from many different countries of Europe and reached America, blending together.

Though the deception was subtle and seemingly “harmless”, it was a seed that was going to be watered until it grew into a great weed to choke out the truth.

Leprechauns, fairies, dwarfs, elves, witches, wizards, magic…these were presented as being merely fantasy and make-believe. Children were told fairy tales by their grandmothers and parents. Though many people in early America were raised with the truth that there is One God who created all things who alone should be worshiped, kids were brought up on Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and fairy tales, and Halloween.

We will not get into all the details of why these things are deceptions, but we will look at how the water-filled kettle of deception went from a simmer to a full boil in less than 100 years and how this affects America today.

(Magic wands are made of wood
from the holly tree: hence, "Holly Wood".)
Magic was celebrated in fairy tales as make-believe and “harmless” in the 1800s and fairy tales gained more popularity with the publication of Children's and Household Tales published in 1812. These stories promoted magic as acceptable and “fun”. Sleeping Beauty, for instance, had a sleeping princess, named Rosamond, who had been “enchanted” into a deep sleep by a magic spindle. When the Prince kissed her, the spell was broken and she awoke.

In the story of Roland, an “evil” witch wanted to kill her step-daughter. To escape her evil step-mother, the girl (maiden) used a magic wand to shape shift herself and other people and to cast spells. Her boyfriend, Roland, used a magical fiddle to cause the “evil” witch to dance herself to death on some thorns. This story for children should not be read by any child. It included a witch, a beheading, a magic wand, spell-casting, shape-shifting, and magical killing. It presented a magic wand as an instrument that could be used for either evil or good. In other words, it promoted witchcraft to children.

These same elements of witchcraft or sorcery, in old children’s stories, can be found in real witchcraft. And, these same elements can be found in The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and many other popular movies and modern books.

Harry Potter and the Spell that is Cast upon the People.

Harry Potter and the Spell that is Cast upon the People

Magic, spells, potions, wizards, witches, charms, incantations…these are the subject of many books, movies, and children’s books. Disney promotes witchcraft in their movies, TV shows, and theme parks. The rest of Hollywood promotes witchcraft through many movies each year to some degree.

People may argue that none of this is real witchcraft and that it is only make-believe or fantasy. Fairy tales and fantasy have a basis in reality. For instance, a witch in a fairy tale puts a spell on someone to make them sleep. Spells are used by real witches to get a person to be deceived or persuaded or to manipulate things for results that are “favorable” to the witch.

(Click for source)
Bob Johnson, wrote a book promoting "magick" [different than magic tricks] for the business world. Johnson wrote this in the introduction:

“The tools of magick are spells, talismans (charms and objects), potions, rituals, and ceremonies. They are all used to achieve a desired result. For example, witchcraft has spells for obtaining money.... Witchcraft spells can get you that raise...” (Johnson.)

Real witches or warlocks (male witches) know that spells work, but these witches will not tell you that using witchcraft (including spells) comes with a great price. Galatians 5 talks about this.

Galatians 5:19-21 (bold / underline added)
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The people who practice witchcraft “shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” That is serious. God does not let witchcraft or witches into Heaven. If a witch turns from her or his witchcraft, and turns to Jesus Christ, then he or she will be saved from the snare of the devil and will be set free from sin. Then, he or she can enter Heaven as an adopted child of God.

God wants all people to be saved who can come to Him. God wants witches and wizards to leave witchcraft and sorcery and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation and repent from their sins.

Christians and witchcraft should never go hand in hand, but that is exactly what has happened over the past 17 years since the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, hit the bookshelves. This book and series still is widely popular since its first publication all those years ago. And many Christians, who had been deceived by prominent “Christian” teachers, pastors, and personalities, have given their kids Harry Potter books and movies.

The people on cuttingedge.org have exposed how Harry Potter books are real witchcraft meant to indoctrinate kids to accepting the satanic New World Order that the book of Revelation speaks about. Kids would wear inked-on lightning-bolt marks, Harry Potter glasses, points hats, and carry brooms. They became engrossed in huge books, ranging in size from 320 to 896 pages. The kids would often read them over and over again.

"The story of Harry Potter is an allegory: It is written and packaged to look like fantasy when, in truth, it is a carefully written true description of the training and work of an initiate in an occult order. [...] The story line aligns with real occult books written by renowned occultist Gavin and Yvonne Frost." (-- Peter Lanz, a former Temple Master in the "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.") (Lanz)

Interestingly, Gavin and Yvonne Frost are in charge of a School of Wicca or witchcraft in the U.K., similar to what Professor Dumbledore has with Hogwarts.

The Babylon Deception: Movies (How Hollywood Movies Affect You.)

The Babylon Deception: Movies

The first flickering screens on which hundreds of eyes were fixed showed scenes from daily life. Horse-drawn carriages ambled slowly through the quaint, 19th century, cobblestone streets while pedestrians flowed around the carriages like small currents around boulders in a river.

It was not long before drama entered the movie scene. Movies during the early 20th century showed train robberies, trips to the Moon, and medieval fantasies. Hollywood came to America and the entertainment industry was born.

Before long, the movies began displaying immoral and indecent images which offended Christians and other people with moral standards. By the late 1920s and early 1930s, there was an outcry against the immorality of Hollywood movies. Christians and others, in large numbers, boycotted the films and refused to set foot inside movie theaters.

Due to the pressure and the potential loss of money, movie makers agreed to the public’s demands and a “moral” code, the Hay’s Code (“The Production Code...”), was applied to movies. It tolerated some “mild” immoral behavior, but would be considered very strict by today’s movie standards.

Over time, as movies pushed the boundaries of the Hay’s Code (“The Production Code…”), and as TV shows constantly broadcast moving images and ideas into the American home, new ideas about proper behavior and what was acceptable began to morph.

As the Rock and Roll music industry started its infancy, drawing young people into stadiums and concert halls, movies and TV shows began to focus more and more on darker themes, such as invasions from outer space and monsters eating humans.

In the late 1960s, movies pushed past the code restrictions and no enforcement was taken. The MPAA began its own rating system which could allow any content to be shown in a movie. A rating would then be applied to the film to identify what the intended audience should be (“The Production Code…”).

THE MAGIC WAND

Movies pushed what was acceptable with each passing year and immorality was blatantly promoted in many films. Today, it has only gotten worse. Movies have depicted every sin imaginable.

Beside the blatant perversion displayed in many films, all Hollywood films have the same source: they come from a movie system called Hollywood. Holly wood is a substance used by the Druids of ancient England. Ancient druids cut branches from holly trees which they fashioned into magic wands used for casting spells (Onstott).

This spell-casting with magic wands continues to this day in the form of Hollywood movies (as well as in its original form as a wand). It can be proven that nearly all Hollywood movies have subliminal messages, occultic references, and hidden Masonic / Illuminati symbolism throughout. Square and compass symbols, all-seeing-eye symbols, the number 33, the number 666, pentagrams (upside-down, five-pointed stars), satanic symbols, satanic “as-above-so-below” symbols, and other symbols occur in numerous scenes throughout most Hollywood movies and TV shows. Some are more blatant, while others are more subtle.

One occultic reference is found in the Star Wars movies: “May the Force be with you.” This phrase is what witches use to greet each other. The late David J. Meyer, who was a former witch who became a Christian, wrote:

'This is the oldest con game ever hatched out of hell. As a real witch, I learned about the two sides of "the force." Apparently, so do many "Christian" leaders. When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. It is not a good side of the force that overcomes the bad side of the force, but rather it’s the blood of Jesus Christ that destroys both supposed sides of the satanic "Force."’ ("Harry Potter?...”).

The Lord of the Rings movies are filled with witchcraft. David J. Meyer wrote an article titled “A Former Witch Looks At The Lord Of The Rings [sic].” Meyer said that as a former witch, he “can spot witchcraft in a moment, and I recognize it well” ("A Former Witch…”).  He had “practiced astrology, palmistry, and numerology among other devices of the craft” ("A Former Witch…”).

Meyer wrote: (Emphasis added)

‘The first thing a neophyte or beginner witch is taught is that there is a “force.” The “force” has two sides and can be controlled by magic spells, words, potions, incantations, rope magic, rings, amulets, and so on[.…] Witches also teach that battles are fought in the Middle Earth and in the astral plane causing upheavals both above and below. […] witches emphasize that good must triumph over evil, but it is all witchcraft.’
‘[…] The ring [of Frodo] has an inscription on which is written a message in the witchcraft language of runes. We must remember that these runes are real and are used in the occult. […] The runes on the ring are interpreted as follows: “One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them”’ ("A Former Witch…”).

More can be said about the blatant and subtle witchcraft in movies (such as Star Wars, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc.). The Bible tells us:
Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (Emphasis added)
9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Movie themes also contain a central agenda which is harmonious with the Illuminati / pagan / New Age / New World Order agenda. Their agenda is to have a unified world, ruled under one powerful man--the Antichrist--who causes every one to worship him and receive a mark on their forehead or hand. Their goal it to set up a "Big Brother" system of control over the entire planet.

Revelation 13:16-18
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Anyone who does not get the mark or worship him will be killed. Many movies have these same themes throughout their plots, but they often portray this world leader (Antichrist) as being good.

[Author's note: When I used to watch Hollywood movies I saw countless movies with the theme of a single man or a single cause uniting people together to oppose a common enemy. Independence Day showed the world uniting against an "alien threat". Interestingly Ronald Regan (a member of the Bohemian Grove) said that "I occasionally think how quickly our differences, worldwide, would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world". He said this 1988 during a speech with Mikhail Gorbachev. Regan spoke often of this "alien threat". This is clearly a New World Order theme. I can't emphasize enough that movies contain these Illuminati themes.]
