The Difference Between the Old Testament and the New Testament Saints (Hypergrace Heresy) (Lukewarm Church) (Apostasy) (False Teachers)

The Difference Between the Old Testament and the New Testament Saints

Many people have wondered why the Old Testament Hebrews were often struck down with plagues and judgments of God while wondering through the wilderness near Mount Sinai.

The Old Testament people who rebelled against the Old Testament laws were destroyed in the wilderness of Sinai. They were destroyed because they were in the presence of God and were hardening themselves against God's teachings, which He gave to Moses. Their actions and words proved that their hearts were hardened against God and His ways.

The New Testament Completes the Old

The sacrificial laws, and the feast day laws, and the dietary laws, and other ceremonial laws were all fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:4Galatians 3:1-8). We Christians have no need to fulfill them since Christ did that for us, nailing all the ordinances, which were written against us, on the cross (Colossians 2:6-17).

But, God does expect us to obey Him in the Ten Commandments, which are repeated throughout the New Testament, including in the epistles from Romans to Revelation (as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit). When we disobey Him, all we have to do is confess it to Abba Father God and repent. Asking Abba God to fulfill that unmet need is the next good thing to do

We have the promise of God Jesus spoke of in Matthew 7:11. Jesus said: "[11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"

The danger is not believing God's Holy Word.

This is a short story about a young man named Steven who was given dreams from God that reveal truth God has shown me (the writer) that His Church needs to hear. Though this is written as fiction, the words spoken by Jesus are actual words that God showed me. So, this is not just a fictional work. It applies to our current world and to the Church. I encourage you to seek God about this to find out what He would show you about this story.

Chapter 3

In the Pit

With that, Jesus took Steve instantly to another place. The place was full of choking, noxious fumes and barely any light could be seen. A terrible, sulfuric smell reached his nose, like the smell of rotting eggs. Hideous laughter, mixed with shrieks and screams, came from various directions, in front of and behind Steve. The temperature was very hot and oppressive like what one might expect in a volcano.

“Lord Jesus,” Steve said, trembling, “where are you?”

“I’m right here with you,” Jesus said from Steve’s right hand.

“Where are we?” Steve asked.

A light shone suddenly about Steve and he saw Jesus standing beside him. His loving presence gave Steve peace and a sense that he was protected.

Before his eyes, Steve saw hundreds of pits, in the ground, filled with smoke and lava. Locked in a metal cage on the ground, a man, dressed in black, ragged clothes, was writhing in pain and cursing. He was cursing God and cursing the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and pointing his finger at Jesus. [See "Footnote" below.]

“You put me here to die. I hate you. I hate all your people.”

“Who are you?” Steve asked, leaning forward to see better.

The man was covered with flames that he tried to put out. Worms crawled over his skin and into his nose. A demon stood near the cage, blowing on the flames with a set of bellows. Another demon poked him with a spear every so often. Both had goat hoofs, bat-like wings, and snake-like tails that poked out from leather-like material they wore as clothing. Their bodies were covered with dark grey skin. Small horns protruded from their foreheads.

The demons stopped what they were doing as both Jesus and Steve approached the cage. In seconds, they left the man alone and darted into small holes in the side of a large boulder nearby. The worms that crawled over the man’s skin began sliding down his body, and moving away from him.

The man in the cage glared at Jesus as he responded to Steve’s question. “I was a missionary to China. I served God for ten years before my life was taken from me in an accident. I did good works for Jesus every day of my life since I was born-again, but I kept working and working for God. I believed that My own works could save Me. I wish my works could have saved me. I wish God would let me enter Heaven, but He is cruel and unjust to make me suffer like this.”

“Tell him the truth, Matthew,” Jesus said.

“Okay, I was lying. I do deserve this, I guess, because I came to a point in My life where I didn’t see a need to trust in Jesus alone for salvation. Why should I? I believed that my own works could save me. I believed that if I sinned against God, all I had to do was do more good deeds, and my good deeds would pay for my bad ones. But, I was made to believe that I was mistaken. My good works, God says, cannot pay for my sin, even if I believed they could. But, cursed be the name of --”

“I don’t permit you to speak that way, Matthew,” Jesus said. “Tell this man the truth.”

“I really began to harden my heart against God’s conviction for me to repent and trust only in Jesus Christ for salvation. I thought, I have done many good works for God. I led 90 people to the Lord. I gave out thousands of tracts in many Chinese dialects. I would spend long hours praying through my prayer book. I worked with orphans in an orphanage. I had taught people about following the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Christ, but I began trusting in my works, and not in the teachings of Christ, as they were taught me.

Chapter 2

The Church That Ignored Their Savior

That night, Steve dreamed again. He found himself standing in the same hallway with the bulkhead doors on either side. The same ceiling light bulbs hummed in their steel cages. Now, as Steve began walking down this hallway, he wondered why it felt very familiar. He had forgotten his previous dream. He tried a door to his left and the handle moved. It was unlocked. Curious, Steve opened it and peered inside.

He found himself staring into a church building sanctuary. At the back of the large room stood a raised platform with a pulpit. A man was standing behind the pulpit and speaking to a large congregation of people. The people in the congregation were reading their Bibles, but were oblivious to Steve as he started walking down one of the four aisles. Then, Steve noticed a man in the front of the room, before the steps leading up to the platform. He was lying on the ground and clearly appeared to be in pain. He had a beard and hair that went down to just above his shoulder. He wore an off-white robe and sandals, like someone from ancient Israel or the Middle East might have worn.

Steve approached the man and was struck by how much agony and sadness he wore on his face and by the love and grief that appeared in his eyes. His side was bleeding, and nail scars in his hands gushed out blood, but no one paid any attention to him. The pastor should have been able to see him, but he completely ignored him and continued preaching. Then, it occurred to Steve that this man was Jesus. Running to his side, Steve said, “Lord Jesus, what has happened to you? Why are you bleeding?”

Just as Jesus was about to speak, a firm hand grabbed Steve around his wrist and pulled him away. Another hand seized his other wrist and some strong men led Steve away from the front end, and down an aisle toward an exit. They opened a door to a small room, pulling Steve in, and shut the door behind them.

“Why did you take me away? Why aren’t you helping that poor man?” Steve asked, shocked at their treatment of him.

One of the men frowned at him and said: “You were disrupting our service and we cannot permit that behavior in our church.”

“But, there is a man bleeding to death right before you, and you act like you never noticed him.”

“What man are you talking about?” the other man said.

“There is a man with blood coming from His hands and side. He, He is Jesus. Why hasn’t anyone noticed Him?” Steve said, with tears starting to run down his face. He wiped them away.

“We don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re hallucinating or something.”

“Let’s get him out of here. He must be drunk,” the other man said reaching to grab Steve’s arm. The men shoved Steve through a door, and he suddenly found himself in another location.

____________________

He was in a manicured garden with marble walkways, streams, and beautiful, flowering trees. A hand touched his back and gently rubbed him. Looking up, Steve smiled. It was Jesus.

His green eyes looked down at Steve with great love and warmth. Brown hair flowed down to just a couple inches above his shoulders. His skin was of an olive complexion. A white or off-white garment reached down to his ankles where leather sandals kept his feet from touching the path. He wore a golden belt or girdle. Steve was six feet tall, but Jesus appeared to be at least seven feet in height.

“It’s you, dear Jesus,” Steve said, amazed.

“It is I. Be not afraid,” He said warmly.

“I saw you back in that church building. Why were you lying in a pool of blood, and why did no one notice you?”

Steve, a young man in his early twenties, pulled his blankets over him as he lay in bed. The dim light from a bare light bulb shot through a gap between his basement bedroom door and the concrete floor. His breathing slowed to a restful state and a dream began to form in his mind. An underground base with steel and concrete hallways appeared.

Steve was standing in a steel hallway lined with metal doors that resembled the bulkhead doors in a ship. A lip was raised a couple inches from the floor of each door and all were closed tight. Electric light bulbs, encased in metal cages, hummed and flickered along the hallway. Footsteps were approaching from behind Steve. Turning quickly, he saw a man approaching, carrying a briefcase in his left hand and a pen in the other. The man wore dark sunglasses, a black trench coat, and a black suit.

“You want your God to love you?” he asked Steve.

That was a strange question, Steve thought. Who was this guy?

“I know you do. So, would you like to find out how to get your God to love you more? Would you like Him to satisfy your desires?”

Steve had felt somewhat empty and somewhat distant from God, and he couldn’t tell exactly why he felt that way, but he did. He had been raised as a Christian and had received Jesus as his Savior and Lord when he was a boy. What this stranger was saying was unusual, but the questions strangely drew him to want to know more.

“Yes,” Steve said. “How?”

“I will give you a booklet which will help you to get God to satisfy your desires.”

The stranger pulled out of his briefcase a booklet and handed it to Steve. Taking it in his hands, he felt the pages and the laminated texture. It looked like a small manual. Opening it, Steve perused through the pages.

“How can I trust you?” Steve asked.

“I am a man of my word. I have served your God for many years and He wants you to follow my, I mean, this booklet.”

“But, this isn’t the Bible,” Steve said. “Why should I follow it?”

“Just trust me. You will see as you follow it.”
Steve began to flip through the pages. He didn’t notice footsteps walking away until he heard the sound of a metal door squeak shut.

The stranger had just opened one of the bulkhead doors, and shut it softly behind him, but he had left it cracked ajar as if to invite Steve to follow him. Steve glanced through the booklet and noticed that it seemed very logical and rational. It made sense. This booklet told him the way to have peace, and a sense of well-being, and confidence by way of taking upon oneself to do tasks and assignments. One was praying for everything he could think of, including praying for long periods of time. It included repetitive prayers and praying for everything with meticulous detail and precision.

Another point made by this booklet was to read three chapters of the Bible quickly and with the goal of getting the chapters done within a certain time frame. Also it spoke of community service, such as raking leaves for widows and picking up trash. The goal in mind for these works is to obtain favor and blessings from God and to earn more of God’s love. This sounded good to Steve, but a still, small voice whispered, “Trust Me and don’t trust these works.” But, Steve felt strongly in his heart that he should do these good works to earn favor and blessing. “How else could I feel God’s love?” Steve thought.

He was curious what lay beyond the door. Stepping over to the door, he nudged it with his hand and it felt very cold, but he pushed it open, and it squeaked loudly. Steve cringed at the sound, but curiosity got the better of him, and he stepped through the door, over the rim. Inside, he found himself in a long hallway with a warped floor. Troughs, bumps, and craters distorted the metal surface underneath. As Steve began walking forward, he noticed the hall widening and widening as if it was from an optical illusion. Here and there were people who were staring at hand mirrors and adjusting their hair. On their shirts hung medals and ribbons. But, each ribbon or medal had a distinct quality about it that drew Steve’s curiosity. The ribbons appeared to be made of paper, and the “medals” of shiny plastic.

“Excuse me, young man,” a gentleman with muttonchops and a red military uniform called out.

“Yes?” Steve said.

“Where do you come from?” The gentlemen studied him with piercing eyes that hid under bushy eyebrows.

“I come from Everytown: population thirty-five thousand.”

“I wondered if you had heard of my name, from where you came?” the man asked.

“No, who are you?”

“I am Colonel Chesterton Pride, and surely you must be aware of all the acts of service I did for your community.”

Steve squinted, trying to remember if he had met or heard of the colonel before.
Colonel Pride said with gusto: “I built an orphanage, gave thousands of dollars to widows and the poor. I regularly attended the First Church of Everytown until I moved to Anytown. Not to be proud, but when I was asked to help the pastor fix the roof of the church building, I ignored my back pain and put my skills to use. Some of the other men had to leave early, but not me. I worked until the sun went down, when my eyes couldn’t see the shingles before me. The next day, I gave a widow the best of my wife’s old clothes and I repaired her kitchen sink. I could go on and on about my accomplishments, but I don’t wish to bore you. So, what brings you here?”

“Where are we?” Steve asked, taking in what colonel had said.

Deceptions in the Charismatic Movement (False Signs Vs. True Signs)

Deceptions in the Charismatic Movement (False Signs Vs. True Signs)

The Charismatic Movement was birthed by the Spirit of God, but over the years some deception has crept in, and tried to choke out the work of God’s Spirit. Ecumenism, in the form of incorporating Catholic doctrines or beliefs into Evangelical Christianity, has produced dangerous heresies.

The Catholic Church for centuries persecuted Bible-believing Christians, burning them at the stake and persecuting them in various ways. Many Catholics believe that Mary is a “Co-Redemptrix” or has a special role in the redemption of man. They also believe that Mary and Jesus mediate grace together, and some call Mary a “Mediatrix.” Mary’s alleged role as a mediator with Christ is taught in Catholic dogma [A.]. Catholics believe (in their doctrine) that Jesus is not the only mediator for the souls on earth.

The Vatican’s official website says:

"This motherhood of Mary in the order of grace continues uninterruptedly from the consent which she loyally gave at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, until the eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation . . . . Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix." [A.] [End quote]

But, the Bible says ...

1 Timothy 2:5. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”

A statement that Benny Hinn made in a youtube video agrees closely with the Catholic belief in “transubstantiation.” Benny Hinn, a popular Charismatic leader, teaches the falsehood that the Lord’s Supper or communion is not symbolic. That is why, he says, he believes that “more” Catholics are healed, during their mass, than people in Pentecostal churches.

John Hagee's False Teaching Exposed

John Hagee's False Teaching Exposed

Left: ?; Center: Benny Hinn; Right: John Hagee
John Hagee, senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas teaches false doctrine about salvation. Hagee denies that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. Hagee falsely claims that the Jews have another way of salvation (or covenant) and that Jesus Christ is not the Messiah (or Christ) of the Jews.

(Contents:
1. The Olive Tree of Promise and Salvation
2. Jesus Christ Does Claim to Be...the Messiah
3. The Old Testament Shows Jesus Christ Is the Messiah
4. Jesus Christ is Part of the Trinity of God and... )

This teaching contradicts the Bible which says Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation (for either Jews or Gentiles).

1 Timothy 2:5 says , "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
Acts 4:12 says, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
John 14:6 says ,"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

There are more scriptures that clearly show Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation for everyone (both to Jews and Gentiles).

Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Note: Greek refers to Gentiles.) (Emphasis added.)

1. The Olive Tree of Promise and Salvation

Romans 11 talks about an olive tree which is God's promised blessings to the Jews. Israel was promised a Messiah to save the Jews from their sin. The Holy Spirit, by Apostle Paul, writes to the saved Gentiles, telling them that they should not boast against the branches God cut out of the olive tree (which is God's covenant with Israel which includes Jesus Christ, the Messiah).

Romans 11:17-19 (Emphasis added)
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

We Gentiles are grafted into this tree. We are now inheritors of the promises God made to Israel of Salvation through the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and of the blessings God gave Abraham. But, we have not replaced Israel. The Jews do not have a separate means of salvation.

Romans 11:19-24
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

The Jews have a great inheritance if they will turn back to Jesus Christ and believe in Him and in the promises God gave to Abraham and to his descendants. God promised Abraham that "in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed." This promise is fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the Messiah. (See Genesis 22:18 and Acts 3.) Simon Peter in Acts chapter 3 told the Jews these words, by the leading of the Holy Spirit:

Acts 3:25-26
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Jesus Christ is the Savior of both Jews and Gentiles if only they will believe in Jesus Christ for salvation.

2. Jesus Christ Does Claim to Be the Son of God and the Messiah (Christ)
