Pornography and Satan’s Trap

Pornography and Satan’s Trap

The pornographic industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that works by bringing both men and women into satanic bondage. Sadly, it is one of the most popular industries in the world. It is a snare of the devil and a deadly trap for those caught up in its web.

(Sin is a pied piper.)
I (the author) am writing this article because God delivered me from this evil trap a few years ago and I want to encourage men (and women) to get out of this snare of the devil. I have learned that this trap will literally bring the souls of men (and women) down to Hell. That is the devil’s plan and sadly, it is working. But, God can reverse it. God only can set a man or woman caught up in this trap free. In this article, we will find out how to get free from the grip of pornography.

Pornography is an addiction that 70% of men from 18 to 34 are caught up in (1). More than 72 million people view adult websites worldwide each month (1). Over 50% of pastors in America say that pornography is a possible temptation (i.e. they are admitting that they have a problem) (2). Fifty percent (50%) of all Christian men surveyed admit that they are addicted to pornography (2) and 20% of all Christian women admit they are addicted (2).

Pornography has its clutches over many, many people around the world. It is an evil and harmful addiction which has destroyed many marriages and destroyed many men’s souls. How is this so?

Jesus Christ said…

Matthew 5:28-29
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Jesus is saying to get rid of what tempts you to sin (i.e. what offends you). Proverbs 7 talks more about this. Please take the time to read, seek God, and think about this.

Proverbs 7:1-5
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

The strange woman is the harlot, or the prostitute, or the image of a woman that a man is lusting after. This prostitute tells the man “Come, let us take our fill of love….”

Proverbs 7:18-27 (bold / underline added)
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

This is very serious. “He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, […] as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.” And there are eternal consequences for committing fornication, lust, or adultery (including pornography): “Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.”

The New Testament also gives a strong warning.

Colossians 3:5-6 (bold / underline added)
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

To mortify means to put to death these sins in your life (which bring about God’s wrath).
For further clarity, Revelation gives a list of those who will eternally be in the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8 (bold / underline added)
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Galatians 6 gives this strong admonition.

Galatians 6:7-8 (bold / underline added)
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Many Christians have been taught that a Christian can never fall away. This contradicts the clear teaching of scripture. There are many scriptures that show Christians can fall away. (Ezekiel 33:13, Hebrews chapter 3, Hebrews 10:26-31, Matthew 7:13-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Matthew 13:1-23 (parable of the soils), Mark 9:39-50, Ezekiel 3:20-21, Romans 6:16, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 6 (all of chapter 6), etc.).

Ezekiel shows us that…

Ezekiel 33:13
13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

This knowledge is important for getting set free from the prison of pornography. If you are a Christian man (or woman) who is caught up in pornography or in looking at women lustfully, you need to understand what the Bible says about sin. Do not listen to anyone who teaches that you can never fall away. Being a Christian is not about going to church and doing good deeds. Being a Christian is about knowing God and having a relationship with God through His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

If you are in sin and do not know God and you die, Jesus will tell you…

Matthew 7:19-23
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

If God only knew you for one split-second of eternity it’s as if He never knew you. Don’t let that happen to you. God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9).

2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Repentance is the key in order to be set free from sin (including pornography which is a type of fornication and adultery. See Matthew 5:28-29). God wants His children to confess their sins to God and repent from sin. Repentance is turning away from sin and depending on God for help to do so.

There is a way out of the trap of pornography (fornication). To get set free from pornography one needs to be:

(1) confessing sin to God and repenting (turning away) from sin every time he or she is aware of sinning (Proverbs 28:13-14 and 1 John 1:9-10);
(2) crying out to God for deliverance (see Psalm 40:12-13);
(3) using the sword of the Spirit (God’s word) and spiritual warfare against sin and temptation whenever the temptation comes (Ephesians 6; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; James 4:4-10; etc.).

What is this spiritual warfare we are speaking of here? This is something God has shown me from His Holy Bible. It really works and it is powerful against the enemy. We have seen how effective it is for getting set free from bondage to sin.

When you sin you need to:

(1)   Confess and repent from all the sins you are aware of doing (pornography, fornication, lust, pride, hate, fear, etc.).
(2)   In Jesus Christ’s name, take back the ground (or territory in your life) you have given to the enemy through your sins. This is taking back an enemy stronghold.
(3)   In Jesus Christ’s name, bind the evil spirits of the sins you gave place to and cast those spirits into the deep (abyss) in Jesus Christ’s name.

We will briefly mention some supporting scripture for this spiritual warfare. The first point (1) is supported by Proverbs 28:13-14 and 1 John 1:9-10. Confession and repentance are needed for a Christian to walk uprightly with God.

The second point (2) about taking back ground given to the enemy and binding evil spirits is supported in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Matthew 18:18, and Psalm 149:6-9. Spirits can be bound and ground can be taken back in Jesus Christ’s name (Luke 10:17-20 and Mark 16:17-18).

The third point (3) about binding evil spirits and casting them into the deep is supported in Luke 10:17-20, Mark 16:17-18, and Luke 8:31. In Jesus Christ’s name, Christians can cast demons out of people like the disciples did in the Gospel of Luke. In Jesus Christ’s name, Christians can also tell demons to go down into the abyss (or deep). This is done only through Jesus Christ’s all-powerful name (Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:17).

If you (the Christian) do these Biblical steps, you will be free from sin (including addictions to pornography and other things). As you seek God and look to God for help, God will help you to fight the enemy and your own fleshly desires. God will give you the power to overcome the enemy as you cry out to God. If you depend on God and seek God, He will help you and you will be free from your addiction to any sin (including pornography). You will still have to battle temptations but God will give you the help you need as you depend on God (see James 1:13-15 and 1 Corinthians 10:12-13).

Would you like to find out how to Know God's Name Personally?

IF YOU ARE SEEKING TO KNOW GOD, please read this message.

1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-98 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God loves us so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and shed His precious blood to pay for all of these sins. (See John 3:16; and 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; and Romans 5:8-11.)

If you repent (turn away) from your sins (Acts 3:19), and believe and confess aloud that Christ has done this for you (Romans 10:9-10), and have made Him your Lord and Savior (again Romans 10:9-10) you are saved.

Now seek God with all your heart. Seek to know Him and you will (Jeremiah 29:13).

John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Jeremiah 29:13: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
