NOTES on ISAIAH 55:1-4
(The cry of Jesus in Isaiah 55.
Living Water that Satisfies the Soul)
“ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money ; come ye, buy, and eat ; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread ? and your labor for that which satisfieth not ? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me : hear, and your soul shall live ; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.” [End quote]
Some Notes on the above passage from Isaiah 55
➽ Verse 1 notes. Come to Jesus who gives the water of life freely. There is no price for His gift of the Holy Spirit, Who meets all our needs, both Spiritual and otherwise.

Let us eat of what God gives us so that we will be filled with God and His goodness. In doing so, we will be satisfied. His goodness is an abundance. Let us delight (take great pleasure) in God’s Spirit, Who is abundant and life-giving. (Note: Fatness is abundance, in the King James Bible.) In John 7:37-39, Jesus said:
