Romans 16:1-10 mentions the names of people Paul personally met. These names have important meanings in Greek. In this article, we will show the name meanings from Romans 16:1-10 along with some other nouns. Amazingly, these name meanings,* when placed together in the order in which they appear in the Bible, form a secret message: a message from God. (*Note: These are name meanings which God revealed to me based on concordances and Bible dictionaries.) 

At the very end of this article, we have placed a secret message which was formed out of Greek name meanings from Romans chapter 16, verses 1 through 10 (a).

Now, let's look at each Greek word of significance and see what dictionaries and concordances have to say about them. After we give each word meaning from reference works, we will include a spiritual meaning, revealed by God. I encourage anyone reading this to seek God about this message and about these words, if he or she would like to.

The words we will look at are arranged in the exact order found in the Bible in Romans 16:1-10(a). We list them below as they appear in the Bible:

Strong's Number: 5402  
Name Meaning: "Feminine of phoibos (bright; probably akin to the base of phos);" Phos means fire, light, rays, "to shine or make manifest". ["Bright and shining."]

Spiritual Meaning: (Name meanings God gave me: "One who walks in the light." Or, "One who is of the light.")

Name: Kegchreai (Cenchrea)

Strong's Number: 2747

Name Meaning: "Probably from kegchros (millet)". Kegchreai was "a port of Corinth".

Spiritual Meaning: (God showed me: "A place of buying and selling grain." "Spiritually, a place of much fruit.")

Name: Priskilla (Priscilla)

Strong's Number: 4252

Name Meaning: "Diminutive of Priska; [acc. to Strong's]". "Feminine form of Priscus, a Roman family name which meant "ancient" in Latin [acc. to behindthename.com]."

Spiritual Meaning: ("Ancient")

Name: Akulas (Aquila)

Strong's Number: 207

Name Meaning: "Probably for Latin aquila (an eagle);"

Name Meaning: "From chrio; Anointed One,..." Chiro means anoint.

Spiritual Meaning: ("The Messiah")

Name: Iésous (Jesus)

Strong's Number: 2424

Name Meaning: "Of Hebrew origin (Yhowshuwa'); Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua),..." Yhowshuwa' means "the LORD is salvation".

Name Meaning: "From a compound of ek and a derivative of kaleo; a calling out, ... assembly, church."

Name Meaning: "Probably from etho..." "Gentile, heathen ... tribe..."

Name Meaning: "Or Mariam (mar-ee-am') of Hebrew origin (Miryam);" Miryam means: "A primitive root; to be (causatively, make) bitter (or unpleasant);..."

Name: Andronikos (Andronicus)

Strong's Number: 408

Name Meaning: "From aner and nikos; man of victory;..." Aner means "man". Nikos is "From nike; a conquest..."

Spiritual Meaning: ("Man of victory")

Name: Junias (Junia)

Strong's Number: 2458

Name Meaning: "Junia [or Junias] is Latin in origin and its meaning is belonging to Juno, the Roman goddess of protection, strength and marriage [acc. to biblical-baby-names.com]." [Note: He became a Christian but retained his Latin name.]

Spiritual Meaning: ("One who was serving a false god." Or, "One who belonged to Juno.")

Name: Ourbanos (Urbane)

Strong's Number: 3773

Name Meaning: "Of Latin origin; Urbanus (of the city, "urbane")..." Hitchcock's Dictionary defines Urbane as: "Courteous in manners; polite; refined; elegant."

Spiritual Meaning: ("One who is polite and considerate.")

Name Meaning: "The same as stachus;" Stachus (#4719) comes "From the base of histemi;..." Histemi means "...cause to stand, establish, hold up..."

Stachus (#4720) also means "spike or ear of corn" (acc. to Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary)". 

Spiritual Meaning: ("One who is held up." Or, "One who is established." )
