Mormonism Exposed (The Church of The Latter Day Saints Exposed) (LDS)

The Mormon (LDS) Religion Exposed

The Mormons--or the LDS Church (“Latter Day Saints”)--form a widespread and influential group that has members in the federal government, in finance, and in politics. Many are familiar with the young men who go door-knocking, wearing badges stating that they are elders. We will look at just a few of the things these Mormon missionaries don’t want you to know about their religion and founders.

1. The Mormon ‘God’ “Was Once a Man” (False Doctrine)

Mormons (or members of the “Church of Latter Day Saints”) are taught the heresy that God once was a man. This is what the Mormon “prophet” Brigham Young said about God:

"The idea that the Lord our God is not a personage [person] of tabernacle [human body] is entirely a mistaken notion. He was once a man. […] If he had a Father, he was made in his likeness. And if he is our Father we are made after his image and likeness. He once possessed a body, as we now do; and our bodies are as much to us, as his body to him. Every iota of this organization is necessary to secure for us an exaltation with the Gods."
- Prophet Brigham Young, True Character of God, Salt Lake Tabernacle, February 23, 1862, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 9, p.286 (bold added)

Please pay attention to the last part: “…an exaltation with the Gods.” The Mormons believe that men can become God. We will look at that heresy later.
First, the Bible does clearly reveal that God the Creator of everything had no beginning and no end, and no one existed before Him or after Him, who is God. He alone is God.

Isaiah 45:5-6 (bold/underline added)

5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

Isaiah 43:10-12

10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.

12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.

Isaiah 44:8

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

The Mormon doctrine that God was once a man
and that He had a beginning contradicts the Bible, God’s Holy Word. In Isaiah 43:10, God said, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” God had no father and He had no mother. He had no beginning and He has no end. There is only one God.

1 Timothy 1:17 says, “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

In Isaiah 44:6 God said: “Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”

This is very clear. God said, “I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” There is only one God, the Trinity, which means there are three in one being. This is not a contradiction.

1 John 5:7 says, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

Jesus Christ is the Word (see John 1:1). He is the Only Begotten Son of the Father. This is important to know. Jesus Christ is the God the Father’s Only Begotten Son.

John 1:14-15

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

2. The Mormon ‘God’ Has Many Wives (False Doctrine)

The Mormons teach the false doctrine that God has many sons and daughters from his many wives. Yes, they believe that God has wives and that He is having spirit-children by them. They even believe that God the Father was Adam and that Eve was one of his many wives. That is what the Mormon prophet Brigham Young taught and it is part of their doctrine, but Mormon witnesses will never tell you this. For at least half a century, the Mormons believed Adam was God (1).

"Now hear it, O inhabitants of the earth, Jew and Gentile, Saint and sinner!  When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him.  He helped to make and organize this world.  He is Michael, the Archangel, the Ancient of Days! about whom holy men have written and spoken--He is our Father, and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do."  (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 1:50) (bold / underline added)

3. The Serpent’s Great Lie and Mormonism

The scripture clearly teaches that God is not a man and never was and that He never had any spirit children or wives. This false doctrine taught by the Mormons is directly against the Bible and it is part of Satan’s great lie found in Genesis 3.

Remember Brigham young said, “Every iota of this organization [i.e. "God" once was man] is necessary to secure for us an exaltation with the Gods.”?

In the Garden of Eden, Satan brought a serpent over to Eve. Satan in the serpent spoke to Eve, tempting her to disobey God’s clear command not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Genesis 3:1-7

3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

What Satan (or Lucifer) in the serpent told Eve was a cleverly formed lie or deception that if Eve were to eat of the fruit and disobey God, she would become a god. It is true that because of eating from this tree Adam and Eve gained the ability to know the difference between good and evil, which is a quality God has, but they would die for their sin (see Psalm 82:5-8).

Satan (Lucifer) wanted them to believe that they could become more powerful than they really were. This rebellion against God is related to Satan’s plan to exalt himself above God.

Isaiah 14:12-15

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Satan wants to be worshipped as God. Satan said, “I will be like the most High.”

Lorenzo Snow, the fifth president of the LDS Church (Mormons) said: “As man now is, God once was; as God is now man may be.” (The Teachings of Lorenzo Snow, ed. Clyde J. Williams [1984], 1.)

The Mormons teach that man can become God. There should be no doubt where they got this idea from.

4. Masonry and Mormonism

Joseph Smith, Jr., the founder of the LDS Church, was a Freemason and never left “the craft”. Mormon historian Reed C. Durham, Jr. wrote about Joseph Smith, Jr.’s induction into Masonry.

"By 1840, John Cook Bennett, a former active leader in Masonry had arrived in Commerce and rapidly exerted his persuasive leadership in all facets of the Church, including Mormon Masonry. ... Joseph [Smith, Jr.] and Sidney [Rigdon] were inducted into formal Masonry ... on the same day..." ("Is There No Help for the Widow's Son?" by Dr. Reed C. Durham, Jr., as printed in "Joseph Smith and Masonry: No Help for the Widow's Son", Martin Pub. Co., Nauvoo, Ill., 1980, p. 17.) (bold added)

Smith was not the only mason of influence in Mormonism. Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, Hyrum Smith (Joseph Smith’s brother), and John C. Bennett were some influential Mormons who also were Freemasons.

There are many articles on Freemasonry (or Masonry). The truth can be found from the pen of the influential 33rd degree mason, Albert Pike.

Albert Pike wrote:

"The Masonic religion should be, by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian doctrine. . . . Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay  [God the Creator] is also God."

“. . . . The doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophic religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay [God the Creator] ; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of darkness and evil.

--Albert Pike (quoted by A.C. De La Rive in La Femme et l'enfant dans la Franc-Maconnerie Universelle, p. 588; Lady Queenborough, Occult Theocracy pp. 220-221.) (bold added)

Pike, a powerful and high-ranking mason, said that “Lucifer is God” and that Lucifer is fighting against “Adonay” who Pike calls “evil”.  This twisted lie comes from none other than Satan (Lucifer) himself.

God, through Isaiah, says:

Isaiah 5:20

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Satan (Lucifer) is not God by any means and never can be. Satan wants to be God, but he will not succeed. Look again at Isaiah 14:14-15. Satan says (in verse 14): “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” But, verse 15 says, “Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”

That is the reality of Freemasonry (or Masonry). Satan (Lucifer) is the mastermind of that dark and shrouded organization. Few Freemasons truly understand the reality that masons closer to the top of the structure know. The same is probably true for Mormonism.

5. The Call to Leave Mormonism and Masonry

If the reader happens to be either a Mormon or a mason, I encourage you to turn your life over to the true Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible and seek to know Him. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit overshadowing Mary (see Luke 1:35). But, Jesus Christ (God the Son) existed before time began with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (John 1:1Micah 5:21 John 5:7, and John 8:58). Jesus Christ created Mary and everyone who ever lived, including Satan (Lucifer) (John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16). These people were not born from one of the Mormon God’s many wives. God created them from nothing. (Genesis 1:1, Nehemiah 9:6, and many other verses talk about God's creation.)

Jesus Christ lived a sinless life (1 Peter 1:19), died on a Roman cross to pay for all your (and my) sins, and rose from the dead on the third day, just as was prophesied in the Bible (see 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).  He paid the great price of your (and my) sins which you (and I) could never pay (Romans 3:23Romans 6:23).

If you believe this truth about Jesus Christ (that He alone is God the Son; that He alone was born of a virgin; that He alone died for all your sins, that His precious blood alone will wash away all your sins, etc.) and make Jesus Christ your personal Savior and Lord, you will be saved.

The Bible is very clear that you (and I) must confess (tell God about) and repent (be willing to turn) from our sin (see 1 John 1:5-10). If we don’t choose to turn away from sin, looking to God for help, we would be making sin our master. We cannot serve God and mammon (love of money, self, sin, etc.) (See Luke 16:13).

Now, this does not mean you have to try to remember every bad thing you said or did and repent from it. It means that when you feel convicted about sin, repent from that sin and seek to know God better (just talk to God).

There may not be a lot of time left for you. Death can take you at any time. Please consider this plea and come to the true Jesus Christ for Salvation before it is too late for you. Hell is not a pretty place to spend an eternity in.

Jeremiah 29:13
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
