Exposed: “Jehovah’s Witnesses” (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Exposed) (What JWs Don't Want You to Know)

Exposed: “Jehovah’s Witnesses” (Watchtower Society)

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (or “Jehovah’s Witnesses”, or JWs) was started by Charles Taze Russell during the 19th century. Spreading across more than 230 countries, the JW religion now has over 7 million members (1). JWs go door-knocking in many cities of America, inviting people to attend a Bible study or JW meeting.  This article will expose truth that the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” don’t want you to know about their religion.

1. False Prophecies of the “Jehovah’s Witnesses”

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society was started by Charles Taze Russell and has its roots in the International Bible Students' Association, which Russell founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1872 (1).
Charles T. Russell thought of himself as some kind of prophet and he predicted that Jesus Christ would visibly appear in 1914. This was not the only false prediction he and other “Jehovah’s Witnesses” (JWs) made.

The JW founder wrote in the 1908 edition of his book The Time is At Hand:

Charles Taze Russell
"True, it is expecting great things to claim, as we do, that within the coming twenty-six years all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved" (The Time Is At Hand; 1889; 1908 ed.; p. 99)

The JWs continued making prophecies after Charles T. Russell’s death. This prophecy comes from the 1917 edition of The Finished Mystery:

"And the mountains were not found. Even the republics will disappear in the fall of 1920. And the mountains were not found. Every kingdom of earth will pass away, be swallowed up in anarchy." (The Finished Mystery, 1917 edition, p. 258)

In 1918, the Watchtower Society predicted that in 1925…

"Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p. 89)

There are more false prophecies that the Watchtower Society has made over the years. None of them have ever come to pass. Deuteronomy 18 talks about this very thing.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?

22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Jesus Christ also speaks about this topic.

Matthew 7:13-20 (Bold added)

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

2. The False Teachings of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Exposed

(2.1) JWs Teach the Lie that Jesus Was a Created Being

Now, we will take a look at some of the JW teachings. Isaiah 8:20 says, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." If someone teaches against the Word of God (the Scripture) they are also bringing forth evil fruit.
JWs teach the false doctrine that Jesus Christ is a created being called Michael the archangel. What does the Bible say about Jesus Christ (the Word)?

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Colossians 1:16-17

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1) and Jesus Christ created everyone and everything (John 1:3). The Bible teaches that God the Father, Jesus Christ (God the Son, the Word), and the Holy Ghost (or the Holy Spirit) are one. Jesus is not Michael. Michael is an angel Jesus Christ created (John 1:3 and Colossians 1:12-18). 1 John 5:7 reveals the truth about the real Trinity of God.

1 John 5:7

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

(2.2) The Nimrod / Ashtoreth / Baal System Exposed

(Baal idol found at
Ras Shamra--ancient Ugarit)
JWs say that the Doctrine of the Trinity is pagan. This is a lie. The ancient pagans after the time of the tower of Babel twisted (corrupted) the Doctrine of the Trinity of God (found in Genesis 1) and replaced the truth with a lie. Ancient pagans believed in a pagan trinity of Nimrod (or Osiris, the father god), Semiramis (or Isis / Ashtoreth, the mother god), and Tammuz (or Horus / Baal, the son god). The pagans worshipped these three false gods in place of the True Creator God (who is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in one. See 1 John 5:7). The Holy Spirit is not female in any way, as ancient pagans believed. He is masculine.

John 14:16-17 (bold / underline added)

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Pagans taught that the Spirit was a goddess who they also worshipped as Ashtoreth (or Isis, or Semiramis, etc.). Worship of false gods was forbidden by God. Only the true God is to be worshiped (see Exodus 20:1-5). In Exodus 20:3, God said, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” In verse 4, God said, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…”

3. The Old Testament teaches that Jesus Christ is God the Father’s Only Begotten Son.

Psalm 2:7-12

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalm 110:1 says, “The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” God the Father (the first Lord), told David’s Lord (Jesus Christ) to sit at God the Father’s right hand. This shows that God the Father’s Son (Jesus) is God.

Proverbs 30:4 says, “ Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?” This rhetorical question clearly teaches that God the Father has a Son (Jesus Christ).

Genesis 1:26-27 also teaches the Doctrine of the Trinity:

Genesis 1:26-27

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God has a plurality (“Let us make”) and yet He is one God (“in the image of God created he him”). Again, this is the Doctrine of the Trinity in Genesis 1, the first book of the Bible.

4. The Watchtower Society Teaches that Only It Can Understand the Bible.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society teaches that it only holds the key to understanding God’s Word, the Bible. JWs are told that they must listen to the words of men and not seek God to understand the Bible.
The Watchtower Magazine from October 1, 1967 says:

"Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible," (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967, p. 587).

So, only the Watchtower Society can interpret the Bible? The Watchtower Magazine declares:

"Only this organization functions for Jehovah's purpose and to his praise. To it alone God's Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book," (Watchtower, July 1, 1973, p. 402).

They are implying that to everyone else, the Bible is sealed, meaning that it cannot be properly understood apart from the JW interpretation. The Bible clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit reveals truth to followers of the Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:11-16

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Notice how the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) is given to true Christians to give them understanding regarding the things of God? Verse 12 says, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

"It should be expected that the Lord would have a means of communication to his people on the earth, and he has clearly shown that the magazine called The Watchtower is used for that purpose," (1939 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, p. 85).

"We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the 'faithful and discreet slave' organization," (Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981).

The Watchtower Society even goes so far as to say that some of their members who find fault with JW teachings are like Satan…

"From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.” (Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1981). (bold added)

These “independent” JWs are compared to Satan (“like the original Satan”) for just studying the Bible for themselves, without the JW stamp of approval.

Jesus Christ said this about the religious leaders of the time:

Matthew 15:8-9

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is teaching the commandments (or beliefs) of men (which contradict the Bible) and this does not honor God. God knows the heart of men (and women). The Watchtower Society claims that they alone hold the understanding of the Bible.

Yet, their beliefs contradict the Bible and their prophecies have not come to pass. According to Deuteronomy 18, the JW leaders who made false prophecies are false prophets and no one should regard them. Can an organization like that be trusted?

5. The Call to Leave "Jehovah's Witnesses”

If you, the reader, happen to be JW or are interested in that, I encourage you to turn your life over to the true Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible and seek to know Him. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit overshadowing Mary (see Luke 1:35). But, Jesus Christ (God the Son) existed before time began with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (John 1:1, Micah 5:2, 1 John 5:7, and John 8:58). Jesus Christ created Mary and everyone who ever lived, including Satan (Lucifer) (John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16). God created them from nothing. (Genesis 1:1, Nehemiah 9:6, and many other verses talk about God's creation.)

Jesus Christ lived a sinless life (1 Peter 1:19), died on a Roman cross to pay for all your (and my) sins, and rose from the dead on the third day, just as was prophesied in the Bible (see 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).  He paid the great price of your (and my) sins which you (and I) could never pay (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).

If you believe this truth about Jesus Christ (that He alone is God the Son; that He alone was born of a virgin; that He alone died for all your sins, that His precious blood alone will wash away all your sins, etc.) and make Jesus Christ your personal Savior and Lord, you will be saved.

The Bible is very clear that you (and I) must confess (tell God about) and repent (be willing to turn) from our sin (see 1 John 1:5-10). If we don’t choose to turn away from sin, looking to God for help, we would be making sin our master. We cannot serve God and mammon (love of money, self, sin, etc.) (See Luke 16:13).

Now, this does not mean you have to try to remember every bad thing you said or did and repent from it. It means that when you feel convicted about sin, repent from that sin and seek to know God better (just talk to God).

There may not be a lot of time left for you. Death can take you at any time. Please consider this plea and come to the true Jesus Christ for Salvation before it is too late for you. Hell is not a pretty place to spend an eternity in.

Jeremiah 29:13

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

End Notes

The Winged-Sun-Disc can be found on the covers of Charles Taze Russell’s books.

Albert Churchward, a mason wrote this regarding the Winged-Sun-Disk:

'... the Winged-Disk, with the Uraei of Egypt, the original of which we find in the text summarized by Naville in the "Myths of Horus," pII. xii. ff.:---"Horus commanded Thoth that the Winged-Sun-Disk, with Uraei, should be brought into every sanctuary wherein he dwelt, and into every sanctuary of all the gods of the lands of the South and the North, and in Amentet, in order that they might drive away evil from therein...." This is what is meant by the Winged-Disks, with the Uraei, which are seen over the entrances of the courts of the temples of all the gods and goddesses of Egypt.'
