Pornography and the Door to Hell (How to Get Set Free from Satan's Trap)

Pornography and the Door to Hell

The Devil has been working hard to destroy the family, starting with the man--the head of the household. This article is going to point out certain things that can help you and yours overcome this great lure and trap that Satan has created to lure men (and women) into destruction.

A poll by the Barna group discovered that 77 percent of “Christian men” between 18 and 30-years-old viewed pornography at least once per month (1); 64 percent of “Christian men” of various ages viewed it at that same rate (2); and 65 percent of non-Christian men admitted to looking at pornography “at least once a month” (2). Also, 15 percent of “Christian women” and 30 percent of non-Christian women viewed pornography at least once per month (2).

These statistics should be alarming and they show the moral condition of America. The number of men and women viewing pornography has increased since the internet came into being. Before, it was harder to access. Now, anyone can find it easily. This is the danger people face each day. There is a solution to this problem, but it may not be what many want to hear.

SATAN’S DECEPTION

(Photo: Snake. Source.)
God created men and women in God’s image. God created them with the desire to marry and bear children, who they would raise to worship God. Along came Satan the deceiver. The Devil wanted to keep men and women from having a good personal relationship with the loving, Holy God. Satan tempted Adam and Eve with sin and power, using the words, “…Yea, hath God said,…” (see Genesis3). The Devil plants doubts into our minds. Satan wants us to doubt God’s word and doubt what Jesus Christ said.

Jesus Christ said that Satan is the father of lies. Jesus told the wicked Pharisees…

John 8:44: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Satan cannot tell anyone the truth without putting a distortion on it to use it out of context—or, to add a clever lie to the truth to make the truth a powerful deception. Watch out for his traps!

“That woman is really attractive,” a demon whispers to a man. Another demon says to a woman, “That man over there is so handsome and your husband is so busy. He doesn’t have time for you…” An urge to sin tugs at the person being tempted. In such a situation, we must look to Jesus (if we know Him) and cry out for deliverance from temptation. Then, we must confront the attack head on.

We will present some powerful solutions that I (this author) have found to be very effective against temptation. It may help to look at a scenario through a series of steps one can follow to get spiritual victory. We will try to be concise.

STEPS FOR VICTORY

A man is tempted by a beautiful woman he sees in a crowd. Lustful thoughts enter his mind and demons begin attacking promptly, trying to get him to lust more. These following steps will help a lot:

(Photo: Man praying. Source.)
(1) Cry out to Jesus Christ for help (if you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord). (See Psalm 18:1-3.)
(2) Quote scripture verses such as Psalm 119:133, Psalm 101:3, Romans 6:16, Galatians 6:7-8, Romans 6:23, 1 Peter 5:8-9, etc. Memorizing and quoting scripture reminds you and the demons attacking you of the truth. Jesus Christ quoted scripture when tempted by Satan in the wilderness. It is the powerful sword of the spirit the Apostle Paul wrote about in Ephesians 6.
(3) Repent to God right then for giving place to lust and fornication and adultery, which are sins that many men (and women) struggle with in their thoughts. Jesus said that if a man looked at a woman with lust …
Matthew 5:28: “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
(4) When we sin, we give place to strongholds that the Devil now has in our lives. The Devil will use those strongholds as launching points to attack us further. We need to take back the ground we gave to lust, fornication, and adultery (or whatever sin it was) in the name of Jesus Christ and that ground will belong to Jesus instead of Satan. (For more information about taking back strongholds, see this article here: “How to Be Set Free from Strongholds”.)
(5) Now, we can ask God to give us the thoughts He wants us to have. We should surrender to God our own mind, will, and emotions. Then, we can ask God to give us the mind of Christ and a heart conformed to His heart (see Romans 12:1-2 and Galatians 2:20). We want God to give us pure thoughts that please Him as we give our impure thoughts and desires to God. This is part of having a personal, emotionally intimate relationship with God (and this is manly and womanly – it’s needed for all people).

God is our kind, loving Father (if we know Him through Jesus Christ). He wants to have a personal relationship with us, but sin keeps us from getting closer to His loving heart. Repentance from sin (choosing to turn away from sin) is a choice we must make each day in order to be close to God.

DECEPTION AND DAMNATION

At the same time, God is a very Holy God and He will not allow a rebellious, sinful person into Heaven. Deception is trying to make us think the opposite, but that is deception.

Psalm 5:4: “For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.”
1 Peter 3:11-12
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Colossians 3:25: “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”

God gives us a clear warning in His Holy Word that a righteous person can rebel against God and no longer be counted righteous. Such a person will face judgment…

Ezekiel 33:13: “When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.”
Revelation 3:5: “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”

(Photo: Scroll. Source.)
Notice the words “…I will not blot out his name out of the book of life…”? This is for who? “He that overcometh…” If we overcome, our names will not be blotted out of the book of life. If we don’t overcome, our names will be blotted out. So, how do we overcome?

Revelation also gives us that answer…
Revelation 12:11: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

The Christians (who know God’s name) overcome the Devil by Jesus Christ’s blood; by speaking the truth and believing the truth (a testimony of faith in Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life); “and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Jesus Christ gave us Christians this powerful truth…
Luke 14:33: “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”

Are we willing to forsake the world each day; and our own plans (each day); and our close friends and family (if it comes to that) in order to follow Jesus Christ and do His will, even if it is unpopular (with Jesus leading us along the way)?

Jesus Christ did not promise us that life would a picnic, but He promised us (i.e. we who love Him and overcome) that He would never leave us, nor forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5). And, Jesus will guide us along the way, as we look to Him (see Isaiah 58:11). May God bless you as you seek Him, repent from sin, and find His way and will for your life.

If you are reading this and do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, by his shed blood, call upon God and seek Him with all your heart. Please read the following below.

Would you like to find out how to Know God's Name Personally?

IF YOU ARE SEEKING TO KNOW GOD, please read this message.

1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God loves us so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and shed His precious blood to pay for all of these sins. (See John 3:16; and 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; and Romans 5:8-11.)

If you repent (turn away) from your sins (Acts 3:19), and believe and confess aloud that Christ has done this for you (Romans 10:9-10), and have made Him your Lord and Savior (again Romans 10:9-10) you are saved.

Now seek God with all your heart. Seek to know Him and you will (Jeremiah 29:13).

John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Jeremiah 29:13: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
