The Name Meanings Fit Into Cohesive Paragraphs

Again, the 15 names we looked at (from Numbers 1:11-16) are
Benjamin, Abidan, Gideoni, Dan, Ahiezer, Ammishaddai, Asher, Pagiel, Ocran, Gad, Eliasaph, Deuel, Naphtali, Ahira, Enan.

When you put the meanings of these name together, they fit into fairly cohesive paragraphs. See below:

"The son of my right hand. His father makes his course straight. He is a warrior. He walks on the path that is straight. [He has] A brother [Jesus] who succours or helps.

This people's God is the Almighty. This man is prosperous. He makes intercession to God. [When] Trouble is stirred. [Then these people will] To assemble by troops or, to assemble and attack. God will add to or augment him. He knows and perceives God. [But] He wrestles [with sin]

He [Jesus] is a brother to those in calamity or distress. He sees the affliction [of the people]."

Now, we can paraphrase these name meanings in this rendering below:

"[He is a] son of God's right hand [through Jesus Christ's blood]. His Father [who is God] makes his course straight [See Footnote #1 below]This man is a warrior [who fights against the devil] [See #2] and he walks on the path that is straight [See #1]. [He has] a brother [Jesus] who succours or helps [him] [See #3].

[Such a] people's God is the Almighty. This man is prosperous [See #4and he makes intercession to God [See #5][When] trouble is stirred, [then these people will] assemble by troops [and wage spiritual warfare against the enemy]. God will add to or augment [or strengthen this adopted son of God]. He knows and perceives God, [See #6] [but] he wrestles [with sin]

[Jesus Christ] is a Brother to those in calamity or distress [See #3]. He sees the affliction [of the people] [See #7]."

[Note: Since Jesus is a Brother to those who experience distress or hardship, we ought to look to Him alone and cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:6-7 says: "[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Also, Hebrews 2 says how Jesus is a Brother to a believer in Jesus.]

Footnotes:

#1. God leads us on straight paths and makes paths for us which are straight and well lit.

Isaiah 42:16 says: "[16] And I will bring the blind by a way [that] they knew not; I will lead them in paths [that] they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them."

Luke 3:4 says this about John the Baptist: "[4] As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

Isaiah 40:3 says: "[3] The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."

Let us walk with God on the straight path and not go to the right or left of God's best will (nor turn from His Holy Scripture).

Proverbs 4:23-27 says:

"[23] Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

25. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil."

#2. Being a soldier in God's army is a privilege and a necessity of every child of God.

Ephesians 6 shows how we are to be like soldiers and put on the armor of God. That way, we will be able to fight against the devil and overcome his wiles or very deceptive snares.

2 Timothy 2:3-4 says: "[3] Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. [4] No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."

#3. Jesus Christ succors (or succours) those who trust in Him for salvation and who believe on His Name. We believers are His brethren.

Hebrews 2:14-18, speaking of Jesus, says: "[14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16. For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham. 17. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted."

Through all the Psalms (see Psalm 91 and Psalm 18) and in the rest of the Bible, God delivers those who trust in Him like He did for Daniel in the lions' den or for his three friends in Daniel chapter 3

#4. God will make us prosperous spiritually, emotionally, and physically (to a degree) as we hearken to His Holy Scripture and obey it.

Psalm 1, and Psalm 81, and many other Psalms talk about this. Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26 speak of this. In John 15, Jesus spoke of the blessings for obeying Him and how we are His friends if we obey Him. Obeying Him shows we love Him. Not obeying Him shows we don't love Him. (See John 14:23-24).

#5. Intercession and prayers (made without hatred or doubting) are effective and important. 1 Timothy 2 speaks of this.

1 Timothy 2:1-8 says:

"[1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6. Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 7. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting."

#6. Knowing God intimately, perceiving God, and seeing Him (His presence, love, peace, and goodness) with our spiritual senses is needed for every Christian.

In John 14, Jesus spoke to His disciples (which also includes us) that His physical body would be leaving the earth soon. But, he told His disciples that while the world would see Him no more, they (and we) would see Him (in a spiritual way).

In John 14:15-19 Jesus said:

"[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also."

Jesus also said this about knowing God and having eternal life in John 17:3: "[3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

#7. God sees our affliction and desires to deliver us. As we look to Him and trust in Him, He does deliver us.

Exodus 3:7 says: "[7] And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;"

Part of Exodus 3:8 says: "[8] And I am come down to deliver them..."

Psalm 34 speaks of how God delivers His people who trust in Him. (Trust is a choice to believe God's Holy Scripture over how we feel and over what we think we understand.)

Psalm 34:4-10 says:

"[4] I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing."
